The CCS team expertly guided the six county Portland, Oregon metro Cities Readiness Initiative region through a complex 2-phase planning project focused on Special Pathogens Coordination in the region.  This year-long project included planning and partner engagement to gain consensus in a multi-sector and multi-jurisdictional environment with local and state public health, federal partners, Emergency Medical Services, and healthcare organizations.  CCS’s ability to engage with a wide variety of partners, paired with their strong organizational skills truly makes them stand out as leaders in the field of emergency planning! First, the CCS team undertook the challenge of creating an After Action Report (AAR) for the Clackamas County COVID-19 response, assessing over 2 years of work across multiple departments and disciplines. Throughout the development of the report they diligently engaged leadership, staff, and community partners to ensure a comprehensive and insightful report celebrating successes and highlighting opportunities for improvement. Second, CCS facilitated an outstanding Mass Fatality Management Workshop. I have had the opportunity to have known and worked with Ms. Tina Wesoloskie since 2002 when she was working for Az Dept of Health Services.  It was not long after that, maybe in the same year, that I met and worked with Ms. April Lawless, who was also working with ADHS way back then.

In 2009-2010 Ms. Lawless was very instrumental in helping La Paz Co. Health Dept gain National Recognition for its Project Public Health Recognition. Her work helped us gain recognition on our very first submission!

Jumping ahead a few years, as we reached the midway point of COVID, we reached out to Coordinated Consulting Service, which April Lawless had started a few years prior, to again team up with April and Tina with a disparities grant which is helping people recover from the effects of COVID trauma.

Their knowledge, insight, professionalism, in providing and ensuring grant benchmarks are met, assisting with thousands of pages of data from surveys, supporting documents for financial reports, and always being available, has enabled us to provide an even greater outreach to our county’s citizens and visitors!
